The future of Dunmow Friendship Club

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Friendship Club hasn’t been able to meet since March 2020, and under the new “Rule of 6” regulations, socialising as we used to is not possible.

The trustees have today written to all current members regarding the future of the club.   The letter includes a ballot paper which you should complete and return to Sarah Eley, Chair of Trustees, no later than 30th September 2020.

There are various options open to us, and these are set out in the letter.

Please make sure you cast your vote and return the completed ballot to Sarah in good time, to make sure your wishes are known.

In addition to the ballot, we are seeking nominations for a new Chair of Trustees.   If any existing member would like to stand for election, they can add their name to the  ballot paper in the space provided.

Sarah will continue with the charity, but will be taking over the role of Treasurer and Secretary from Richard, who has decided to stand down after almost three years of serving on the committee.    We would like to take this opportunity to thank Richard for all he has done to support the club in this time, and wish him well for the future.

Remembering Ann Rolph

It is with great sadness that we advise members that our dear friend Ann Rolph has sadly died after a short illness.

Ann was a popular and active member of the friendship club, and I was very grateful for all the support that Ann gave to me personally coming into the group as a committee member, but also efforts she put into keeping things moving along over the last year.

Ann will be very sadly missed.

Our thoughts are with her loved ones as this difficult time.

Thank you Jean, Elsie and Rose

After many years of service, Jean, Elsie and Rose have sadly decided to leave the Friendship Club

We are very sad that Jean, Elsie and Rose, after many year of serving on the committee and helping on club nights and at events like the Carnival and Christmas Fayre, have decided to leave the club.  They and their contribution will be missed.

As a sign of our gratitude, we have sent bouquets of flowers to all three ladies, which we hope they will enjoy.

Thank you all for our hard work and commitment.
